POLITEHNICA Bucharest, together with CITI Cluster, invites you to participate in the first edition of the Smart City Highlights event, taking place on October 7–8, 2025, within the POLITEHNICA Bucharest Campus.
This innovative event is dedicated to supporting and accelerating the transformation of Romania’s cities into smart, sustainable communities focused on the real needs of people and the environment. Smart City Highlights brings together key players from academia, technology companies, local and central public authorities, and media representatives to create a space for dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of best practices.
What’s new at Smart City Highlights?
- Live exhibitions and demonstrations featuring innovative technologies and solutions in areas such as digitalization, green energy, urban mobility, and other key sectors for smart city development;
- Thematic workshops and discussion panels led by experts, addressing current topics and relevant urban challenges;
- Conferences with concrete case studies and dedicated sessions on strategies and solutions for smart cities;
- Educational activities and contests for children, aimed at fostering engagement and creativity among the new generation in building sustainable and smart communities.
Event Structure:
- October 7 – “Urban Dynamics”
A day dedicated to municipalities and large cities.
Main topics: smart city strategies, project funding through European funds, smart mobility, digital twins, cybersecurity, green cities, artificial intelligence and Big Data for public administrations, and relevant case studies.
- October 8 – “Local Roots”
A day dedicated to small towns, communes, and county councils.
Main topics: national programs for small towns and communes, smart infrastructure, intelligent public lighting and energy efficiency, connecting villages to smart city networks, public safety and smart surveillance, and solutions for sustainable agriculture.
The program structure for both event days is as follows:
- 09:00 – 10:00 — Welcome coffee and opening conference
- 10:00 – 13:00 — Workshops
- 13:00 – 14:00 — Lunch break
- 14:00 – 16:00 — Conferences
- 16:00 – 16:30 — Conclusions
- 16:30 – 17:30 — Cocktail & networking
